Role description & Responsibilities:
Candidate will be responsible for supporting manufacturing activities for electronic assemblies used in various space system vehicles. Specific duties may include: supporting development of processes and procedures for the assembly of electronic circuit card and cable assemblies; reviewing and approving drawings; supporting required MRB processing; operate manufacturing equipment used in the SMT circuit card assembly process, supporting manufacturing activities with supervisors, program engineers and various customer organizations; reviewing design changes on WIP or completed assemblies; recommending changes to improve process and product quality. May also assist in the training of other manufacturing technicians.
Hands on electronic manufacturing experience in circuit card and cable assembly is required. Must be capable of passing all NASA manufacturing/quality certifications required. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills that aid in achieving both primary and multi-departmental goals.
* Experience in the space manufacturing field with demonstrated knowledge of the high reliability workmanship standards and hardware/interfaces typical of the high tech industry.
* Required skills include the ability to use critical thinking to troubleshoot problems.
* Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
* Basic computer skills (MS Excel, Access, Powerpoint, Word) required.
* Familiarity with discrepancy reporting/tracking/resolution a plus.
Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Engineering
20 years or equivalent combination of education & experience is preferred
