As a Fabrication Technician you will provide mechanical technician support for the manufacturing of integrated products in our composite structures assembly area. This involves the assembly of hardware to consolidated, honeycomb panels and structures.

This position could become Permanent.

Job Title : Fabrication Technician

Work Location : Beltsville, MD

Projected Duration : 11/13/2017- 05/12/2018

Shift : 8 hour days / 5 days a week

Pay Rate : $19 to $25 an hour, Dependent on Experience

Responsibilities

The Assembly Technician position will provide mechanical technician support for the manufacturing of integrated products in our composite structures assembly area. This involves the assembly of hardware to consolidated, honeycomb panels and structures.

Qualifications

HS diploma or equivalent (education will be verified)

Minimum 2 years previous fabrication / honeycomb panel and structure assembly or aerospace mechanical assembly experience.

Experience in an aerospace and/or manufacturing environment preferred.

Mechanical aptitude to include the ability to read and interpret drawings.

Familiarity with hand tools and good math/geometry skills.

Must work closely with lead technicians and supervisor to meet build requirements and schedules.

Must have experience / be able to operate equipment such as hand tools and power tools (rivet shavers, rivet tools, torque wrenches, drills) and precision measuring tools (micrometers, scales) for processing metals and wood.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Demonstrates high level of concern for safety of self and others.

Willing to work flexible schedules as needed to meet delivery dates.

Previous fabrication (honeycomb panel and structures assembly) experience in aerospace manufacturing environment.

Experience preparing/mixing epoxy and silicone adhesives for mechanical and thermal component installation in honeycomb panels.

Experience handling hazardous materials utilizing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with OSHA and industry standards.

Computer skills including MS Word and Excel are a plus.

Successful candidate will be a team player with a strong desire to work in a fast-paced, professional manufacturing environment

Ability to follow instructions, plan work, and manage time appropriately

Ability to follow safety procedures

Demonstrates a positive attitude and strong work ethic

Works with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Ability to arrive and report to work on-time, as scheduled
