Pinnacle Partners is assisting our client in their search for a Toolmaker. The Toolmaker will be responsible for for maintaining and troubleshooting tooling and fixtures and performing preventative and predictive maintenance on installed tooling to minimize downtime, keeping safety as the number one priority.
Maintain assembly lines and other tooling to improve processes resulting in increased productivity and quality parts
Proficiently operate lathe, drill press, mills, wet grinder, hand tools, etc.
Troubleshoot tooling issues in the production area and in the tooling room, recommend and implement solutions to fix problems
Minimize downtime, repair on the line or in the press if possible, by effective use of resources including response time, technical expertise, tools, spare parts
Recommend modifications to new and existing tooling and fixtures to improve safety / ergonomic issues, quality and dimensional issues, productivity and/or efficiency
Monitor spare parts requirements to continuously improve process
Maintain accurate documentation for purposes of good communication and lessons learned
Perform PM inspections as required, complete with all repairs
Recommend additional PM’s and die improvements to assure improved performance, part quality and die life
Effectively and positively communicate with co-workers and management personnel to enhance teamwork and drive improvement activities Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing processes
Follow all safety procedures, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), controls, safety, devices, lock out/tag out, etc.
5+ years of relevant experience with tooling, stamping, welding assembly, production or similar processes. 4-year trade school preferred
Must have a basic knowledge of drafting (GDT, blueprint reading, dimension drawing, AutoCAD, etc.)
Ability to accurately use measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, depth gages, etc.
Strong problems solving ability and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to weld and restore tooling to original condition
Ability to use basic hand tools, hand grinder, band and cut off saw etc.
Proficient in repairing progressive and transfer dies
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusion
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
This is a Direct-Hire opportunity with compensation up to $31 per hour based upon experience and qualifications. This position offers paid (1.5x) OT and shift differential. Our client offers a full range of health benefits, as well as a 401k match, and PTO.
